flyerLONDON TO KOJONUP – A SUNSET SOPRANO
Award winning soprano Samantha Clarke is visiting Kojonup for an unmissable evening of musical delights. After perfecting her craft internationally for several years, Samantha has found herself home in Western Australia in these unprecedented covid times. Shelving her plans to perform in leading roles at London’s Royal Opera House, as well as starring in the Quebec Opera Festival and performing with orchestras around Europe, she is thrilled for the opportunity to perform on the stage in the cultural hub of the Kodja Place on Saturday 14th November.

Since her last performance in the Rose Maze, Samantha has gone on to win the prestigious Gold Medal award at both the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. The Arts Desk, a prominent online music publication, flagged Samantha as a Promising Newcomer in their “Best of the Year” column. In 2019 Samantha debuted the title role in the world premiere of “Georgiana”, a special commission for the Buxton International Opera Festival, to huge acclaim.

Other recent notable performances include Musetta in La Boheme with Opera North, starring in a performance of Rutter’s “Requiem” with the Munich Radio Orchestra and being a featured soloist in orchestral concerts at the well known Wigmore Hall and Cadogan Hall in London.

Samantha will treat the audience to a selection of opera, music theatre and contemporary pieces with a classical twist.
“Samantha Clarke’s Anne could be seen and heard in any of the world’s opera houses right now. Her sympathetic facial expressions tell us everything we know, the lyric soprano seems effortless”- David Nice, Arts Desk, UK.

“Samantha Clarke sings lustrously in the title role”- Rupert Christiansen- The Telegraph, UK.

“Samantha Clarke’s Musetta had a commanding presence, stealing hearts with her seductively sung Quando m’en vo’.”- Gavin Engelbrecht- The Northern Echo, UK.
